Little Miss Chatterbox and Shaved Dogs

Listen to this little lady talk!

Last week, she pointed to a big red ball and says, “ball.” I was shocked beyond measure! I do not spend nearly the same amount of quality time with Lise as I did with Ava. I honestly didn’t think Lise would talk until she was 2. But she obviously has her Daddy’s big ‘ol brain because she manages to pick up words all on her own.

It seems that she is learning a new word everyday!

(it took a lot of tries to get her talking on video, but I finally did it while she was on a changing table in the ladies room!

IT’S that wonderful time of year when Farley gets shaved. I love it when she gets shaved. Less hair in our bed. Less hair on the floor. Less hair in Annalise’s mouth. And the best part for Farley is less hair = more belly rubs!

Ava is very good at “training” Farley. Ava gets her to sit, lie down, and roll over!

LOVE

The bond between these two is truly remarkable! Annalise adores Ava. Ava is a very kind, loving, and protective big sister. Scott and I are amazed at how quickly their relationship has developed! We had no idea they would be this close at such a young age.

relaxing

For about 2 months, Ava would be the one to go into Lise’s room when Annalise awoke from a nap. Ava would climb into Lise’s bed, and they would play for about 20 minutes! If I walked into the room, Annalise would start to cry and want out of her bed, so I just stayed away, letting them have their special time together while listening on the monitor.

We are so blessed to have two wonderful girls! They are our heart’s delight!

PS. I forgot to mention the cutest conversation I had with Ava.

Ava: Annalise has been with us a long time.
Me: I know! doesn’t it seem like we have always had her?
Ava: We have.
Me: she’s only 10 months.
Ava: Yeah but she’s always been in my heart.

so cute! Ava melts my heart.

A little bit more…

I just wanted to share a few more things about our camping trip.

Here are some pictures:

Lisey all cozy by the fire.

Scott and Ava “nuggling” by the fire. They stayed up late each night just cuddling and talking while Lise and I snoozed.

The first night we lit a fire, Ava watched the embers fly up into the sky and commented that we were planting stars. As the fire burned on, more and more stars appeared in the sky.
