Easter 2012

The kids had a great Easter. We were out in the yard (in pajamas) at 7:30AM looking for Easter Eggs. Annalise is a candy-head and wants to immediately open the eggs and eat their contents.

rats and butterflies

Ava recently raised 5 Painted Lady caterpillars to butterflies. All 5 that were shipped as tiny caterpillars lived to be beautiful butterflies.

Here she is releasing one of them on a nice day

Hard to spot, but it’s on a flower down there.

We’ve also been having fun taking the rats (Ratsie and Skidders) out on sunny days. They love playing out in the bushes of the front yard.

“winter” project done

I wanted to build a motorized bike during the winter. While I didn’t get it built in the winter I slowly picked up parts here and there, a bike, an engine, etc. Since Spring has been teasing us here with some warm days I decided I had better get a move on and get my “Winter” project going. The last couple of weeks I’ve been plugging away in the garage an hour here, an hour there. There were no plans to follow, just kind of “engineer as you go”.

Anyway this weekend I finally got to a “rideable” stage and this thing is a blast to ride. Very easy to maneuver, but can easily cruise at 20MPH all day getting 140 miles per gallon. Planning to ride it to work during good weather just for fun.
