Today Ava learned to ride a bike (no training wheels!). We had been practicing gliding with the pedals and crank removed, and then she got the hang of riding with pedals but the last part to master was getting started from a stop. A few hours of practice today and now she has got it down. Go Ava!

“winter” project done
I wanted to build a motorized bike during the winter. While I didn’t get it built in the winter I slowly picked up parts here and there, a bike, an engine, etc. Since Spring has been teasing us here with some warm days I decided I had better get a move on and get my “Winter” project going. The last couple of weeks I’ve been plugging away in the garage an hour here, an hour there. There were no plans to follow, just kind of “engineer as you go”.
Anyway this weekend I finally got to a “rideable” stage and this thing is a blast to ride. Very easy to maneuver, but can easily cruise at 20MPH all day getting 140 miles per gallon. Planning to ride it to work during good weather just for fun.
Still need to make some kind of exhaust… basically right now there is none…
